Alike and Different at the Same Time

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given us…each of us is to exercise them accordingly.”  Romans 12:6

What an amazing, beautiful experience it is to be the same and different all at the same time. When God fearfully and wonderfully knit each of us together, He put in us the same sense of belonging. He made us similar in that we are all humans, with intelligent minds, and the ability to communicate and come together. At the same time, in His wonderful grace, He also put in us a sense of wanting to be unique, whether culturally, socially, relationally, or even in the way we dress. It is this sameness and uniqueness that God has gifted us to do certain things well, for the sole purpose of sharing the great story of salvation. We are created for one purpose – to bring glory to God! As individuals in the body of Christ, that will express itself differently. Yet, when everyone expresses their unique grace-gifts, it will draw people to Jesus as we lift up His Name! Don't ever minimize what God has placed in you, you are meant to be different. Instead, use what you have been given to connect others to live the life of a Jesus follower.
