“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” Isaiah 55:1
Have you ever been in a grocery store and witnessed a little child buying a treat for himself or herself? With all his or her innocence, the child will take a tiny handful of change and purchase that piece of candy or treat. He or she experiences so much joy in just being able to buy his or her own little treat, and this even though he or she hasn't earned any of the money used to purchase the treat! In our relationship with the Lord, the reality is that we also bring nothing to the table. Whereas the child in the grocery store may have a pocketful of pennies, we have a spiritual pocketful of lint! We have " no money" in God's kingdom, yet the Word of God in Isaiah is inviting us to come and buy the free gift of God's love, mercy and grace, and be satisfied! We must take advantage of this free life we have in Christ! Are you taking full advantage of your life in Christ? "Come, buy and eat!"
